Jackson State 31, Tennessee State 12
Jackson State quarterback Darrell Asberry put on a show.
In completing 18-of-30 passes for 290 yards and rushing for
three touchdowns, he controlled the game.
He passed the ball or handed it off to running back William
Arnold, who carried 19 times for 124 yards, as JSU ate up
the clock.
On the other side of the ball, TSU's Darron Davis topped Arnold's
effort with 134 yards rushing, but it wasn't enough, as the
50,047 fans could tell.
TSU struck first in the game, taking a 6-0 lead, but a 66-yard
drive in the second quarter brought Jackson State to the top.
From there, Asberry and Arnold clicked off more than enough
yards and points to give Jackson State the win.
